This small lot house on a 320m² site was a test of ingenuity and innovation. The Planning Minister’s new guidelines for smaller housing lots was launched from the exemplary house. The design was compact, modern and also won three awards - a Merit Award by the Australian Institute of Architects in 1990, along with both a Master Builders Award and Housing Industry Award. The jury commended the juxtaposition of the indoor and ‘outdoor’ rooms.
